President Barack Obama Endorses Steve Dettelbach for Ohio Attorney General
CLEVELAND — Today, President Barack Obama announced his endorsement of Steve Dettelbach in his race to become the next Attorney General of Ohio.
After learning he has the President’s support, Steve Dettelbach commented:
“It is an honor to have the endorsement of President Barack Obama. Learning I have his support made me reflect on when President Obama first met with all the nation’s U.S. Attorneys at the White House. I vividly remember him telling all of us that we were NOT his attorneys — and that what he expected was that we would do the right thing and protect the Constitution.
“Leading the great men and women of that office and working with law enforcement to protect our community has been the greatest professional honor of my life. We woke up every day to fight for the Rule of Law — to hold everyone accountable no matter how powerful and to protect everyone no matter how vulnerable. That’s the same thing I’ll do as Ohio’s next Attorney General.”
Steve Dettelbach, the Democratic candidate for Ohio Attorney General, is a former United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio and career federal prosecutor.
